"MY SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM CLERGYMAN TO SKEPTIC"
May 16, 2010
Earl Cruser will describe how a graduate of a theological seminary and an ordained church pastor became a skeptic. Topics to be discussed include: Is the Holy Bible the Word of God? Did the
Jesus as depicted in the New Testament actually exist in history? What are the problems of the Christian ethic? What is the future of Religion?
Mr. Cruser was born in Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. He received a B.D. degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in 1955. He served both as Assistant Minister and pastor of three Chicago Presbyterian Churches. He then received an M.A.
Degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago in 1967. He came to the Bay Area as Executive Director of the Presbyterian-related Potrero Hill Neighborhood House in San Francisco.
