Steve Rabinowitsh
"Paris"
Mr. Rabinowitsh will present a history of the development of Paris
including its architecture, planning and urban development. He
will discuss why Paris is one of
the world's great cities and what
we can learn from its development.
Steve Rabinowitsh is an instructor of Political Science at Santa Rosa Junior College and also teaches a course entitled "Why We Love Paris" at SRJC's Community Education Department. He has Masters Degrees in both Political Sciences and Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado. He served on the Santa Rosa City Council for eight years as well as the Executive Board of the Association of Bay Area Governments.
He has been involved with various community activities over the years: helping create the Prince Memorial Greenway, helping start the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District and helping the passage of Measure Q, the SMART train. He currently serves on the SMART Citizens Oversight Committee, the Community Foundation Grant Distribution Committee, the Santa Rosa Art in Public Places Committee and also the Santa Rosa Watershed Advisory Committee.
