January 15 - DAVID McCUAN - "2012 Election Preview: Challenging Elections in a Time of Challenging Governance"



David McCuen2012 will be a monumental moment in American politics. President Obama is up for re-election along with a reaffirmation of the House Republicans elected in 2010. Who will the Republicans decide to run against the President? The economy, unemployment problem, debt ceilings, and wars in 5 countries all add up to huge decisions by the electorate. Dr. McCuan will present his unique insight into the elections to give his perspective and crystal ball on the November Elections.

Dr. David Mc Cuan is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Sonoma State University. He received his doctorate from U. C. California- Riverside. David focuses on international and national politics as well as international security and terrorism. He has studied in Virginia, Washington D.C. Israel, West Bank, and in Europe. He has worked with CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, L.A. Times, and dozens of other print, radio, and TV stations around the world. In the area of elections Dr. Mc Cuan focuses on the general impact of ballot measures-direct democracy-in the state of California and across the nation. He has taught at UC. Berkley as well as Osher Life Long Learning.
